Welcome to my website.  I am in the middle of re-structuring/updating this website.  If you click once on an image, it will enlarge.  If it does not, it means I have not updated it yet.

I live in the Monterey Peninsula, California  with its spectacular scenery  and home  to so many artists. I grew up on a beautiful, small (59 square miles) island in the Indian Ocean literally on the other side of the world from Monterey Bay.  It is fitting that I would end up in a place with white sandy beaches, rocks, trees, flowers – subjects that are part of my entire life experiences.

For several years I commuted from Marin County to San Francisco for work crossing the Golden Gate Bridge many times a week.  The bridge is featured in quite a few of my paintings and I still cross it several times a year.

I started painting when I moved to the Peninsula approximately 10 years ago, taking art lessons at Monterey Peninsula College and the Carmel Adult School and studying under and taking workshops from Mark Farina, Dick Crispo, Rodney Winfield, Tim and Rose Sloan, Melissa Bispo, Mary Titus and Anne Thiermann.

All of my paintings are originals.  Most of the landscape paintings were done “plein air” (on location), braving wind and cold.  This way I can capture the true colors of nature.  A “plein air” painter seeks mood, atmosphere and spontaneity.  Sometimes I finish the paintings in the studio.  I work with several mediums to expand my creative reach.

I am a member of the Monterey Peninsula Art Foundation.  I have exhibited at various juried shows and won several prizes.   I also belong to the San Francisco Fine Arts Museums and the SF Museum of Modern Art.
